College Hoops : Tuesday Night Lock

College BBall is doing their best to get the early weeks of the schedule loaded with some good games, and this one should excite. Many consider Memphis#11 as a threat to steal the AAC Conference Title away from Louisville, while others consider Oklahoma St.#7 to have real shot at the National Title Game. From the casual viewers stand point, they see #11 vs. #8, and two teams they are pretty familiar with. Over the last 5-7 years the Tigers have had more notable success, and will stand out in many people’s minds as a legit dog at this point of the season. This is incorrect, and it is actually a terrible spot for them. The nucleus of this Tigers team is pretty different from last year, as they try to replace Barton and Black with some stud recruits and Michael Dixon from Mizzou. Senior PG Joe Jackson will assert himself early and often in this game, but will it be enough? The glaring spot in this matchup is team experience. This is Memphis’ 2nd game of the year, and first road game. The Pokes have played 4 games together (all at home), with basically the same team from last year lead by future lottery Pick – Marcus Smart. The Pokes will welcome in the tigers into Stillwater with open arms, as they show what an experience title contender looks like in a very lopsided win.

Mid-Week MAC Action #3

3rd consecutive week to have Grinder, aka Mr. Thursday, join us as guest MAC Analyst.

Small Setback last week as we broke even.  We here at BITS and Grinder, Inc see breaking even as a loss!  Maybe some of you only played the 10 star lock, and moonwalked as it coasted to a 3TD victory.   #midseasonMAC

 8 – STAR Lock :
N. Illinois (10-0) -2.5  at Toledo (7-3) : We told you last week to unload on N. Illinois and we didn’t disappoint.  I hoped you bet more than you could afford too last week, and are wiping your ass with $100 bills this week.  This week we get a short line of -2.5 with our beloved Huskies.  Jordan Lynch proved last week that he’s the complete package.  I look for a very balanced attack from NIU to take it to first year coach Matt Campbell.  The Glass Bowl will of course be rocking this week, but it just won’t be enough.  NIU have been point spread darlings this year, rolling to a (7-2 ATS) record.  Tack on another one to the total on Wednesday night.  Gimme N. Illinois -2.5

5 – STAR Lock :
Buffalo (7-3) -23.5 at Miami, Oh (3-7) : Buffalo comes into this matchup after an embarrassing loss to Toledo last week.  They forgot to show up for the first half last week, and still almost backdoored the number in the 2H.  Jeff Quinn’s club has been focused all week and will bounce back in a big way on Tuesday night.  Miami hasn’t won all year, and they will need a lucky rabbit’s foot to stay close in this one as well.  I don’t suggest taking a team with zero chance of winning straight up.  As a wise man once told me, “Depend on the rabbit’s foot if you will, but remember it didn’t workout so well for the rabbit.”  Buffalo is 7-2 ATS and Miami is 3-7 ATS, make the smart wager here.  Take Buffalo -23.5.

3 – STAR Lock :
Kent St (3-8) at Ohio (6-4)  -4.5  : This is what Grinder likes to call a trend game.  Two pretty equal crap teams in the MAC.  Both with losing records ATS, and can’t make a case for either team in breaking down the statistics.  What I can do is look towards the favorite.  In the past two weeks, Grinder is (4-0) when selecting the favorite in MAC action.  If you look at the above plays, I lean towards the favorite in both of those.  Let’s just keep it simple, and not over analyze this snoozer.  Gimme Ohio -4.5
