You might be wondering why we didn’t post any locks last week. Our staff simply felt last week’s locks were only worthy of 3 and 4 star selections, and we have decided moving forward to only post 5 star locks. For those that have been following, its been a great start to the season. Our 5 star locks are 11-1 on the season, as we went a perfect 3-0 on our last post 2 weeks back. Our teasers are 4-2 on the season, with Seahawks blowing a big lead late vs the Panthers to cost us the last tease. This week we have 3 more 5 star plays, and 2 teasers. Here are your Halloween weekend locks.
5 Star Locks :
Houston Cougars -10 vs Vanderbilt : Cougars are for real, and are in the running along with Temple and Memphis for one of the New Year’s Six Bowls. Buy spread down to 10 to be safe, but realistically we think Houston wins by 20. But remember, doesn’t matter what you lay when it hits. Houston wins 44-24.
Temple Owls +11.5 vs Notre Dame : Hands down the biggest game in Temple football history. GameDay is there in Philly, and with it being the only matchup of the weekend with two top 25 teams facing off, all eyes will be on the Owls. An important game for the other AAC teams as well, as a huge win here, would go a long way towards the AAC winner argument to get in the top 4 if finish undefeated. Buy to 11.5. Not sure if Temple will win the game, but they will keep it close enough to cover the spread. We will say Notre Dame wins it 31-24.
Cincinatti Bengals +1.5 @ Steelers : Big Ben is back and the public starting to sway this line the Steelers way after opening with Bengals a slight favorite. Here at BITS we are a believer in Andy Dalton this year. Until they lose a game, we will keep backing them. Bengas win a tight one, 23-21.
Teasers of the Week :
2 teasers this week, one for College and one for Pro
Georgia +8.5 + Minnesota Gophers +19.5 : Cocktail Party usually stays close. This one will come down to the final possession, to getting spread over 8, doesn’t matter who wins. And in Minnesota, the Wolverines still suffering from the blown victory vs Michigan State. Add to that Minnesota coach had to quit for health reasons, and we like team rallying here. Should be a low scoring game, so getting spread to 19.5 a no brainer.
Falcons ML & Cardinals ML : With both of these spreads hovering around 5-7, you should be able to tease both down to where both teams just need to win. Or just do a two team Money Line Parlay. These two teams will both win.
